Newly launched pictures of the Jan. 6 assault at the U.S. Capitol displays the seething mob of pro-Donald Trump insurrectionists descend on a police officer, then beat him with a flagpole and assault him with a stun gun.
The pictures from the bodycam of D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone, obtained by CNN, left anchor Don Lemon in tears:
The mob assaulted the Capitol in an try to block the certification of the 2020 election and stay the dropping candidate, then-President Donald Trump, in administrative center.
Then again, Republicans have attempted to downplay the assault.
Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), a white nationalist sympathizer whose personal circle of relatives blames him for inciting the rise up, on Wednesday known as the attackers “peaceful patriots” who had been being “confused.”
Any other, Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.), claimed “there was no insurrection.”
And Trump in March falsely claimed the mob was once “hugging and kissing” the police.
Fanone stated final month that’s now not the enjoy he had.
